LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting-of the.'Lpd Board was'held at the Survey Office thismorning. Present-Messrs Bunny (in tlib chair), W.A. Fitzherberfc,McOardle, Eeese, and G, Beetbam. The area of the total leases, disposed of since last meeting was 27,540 acres, and the amount received JG22917s 9d. The application of Mr E, Whitcombe to capitalise the unpaid instalments on section 3, Block XVI., Maugahao, was approved, as was also the application of the selector of section 46, Hunter ville, to make liig payment due last January, Mr J. O'Brien wrote with reference to road access to His section, 59, Pahiatua. It was resolved to inform him that the Board had the matter in hand. The Crown land's ranger's report on the improvements effected on Grown lands near Alfredton by Messrs Macquarie Bros., in which he valued the improvements at 80s per acre, was ordered to stand over for the present.' It was resolved to throw open the balance of the small runs in the Maungakaretu Block, aud the pastoral leases along the sea coast for application, after 80 day's, notice. Mr Lowes forwarded the amount of payments in arrear on seotions 28; Block 111., and 8 Block VII., Maugahao, and declarations required for the transfer from Mr J. Bell to his son, Mr W. J. Lowes. The matter was allowed to stand over for tlie present. Mr Fitzhorbert gave notico to move next meeting, "That Government be recommonded to issue a single lease to purchasers''who have selected a numbor of runs instead of a separate lease for each run. Mr J. P. Beeoh, Pahiatua, wrote applying for permission to purohase a reserve between his Boption.and the Hook road,- It was resolved that the Surveyor-General be urged to sotfcle the matter of compensation for road to be taken .before.any action could bo takeu in the matter by the Board. Mr A, BirniQ wrote! asking for a piece of a reserve adjoiniug his section. The Board decided to make enquiries as .to the laud asked for before taking action.
