FOOTBALL SPORTS.

The athletic sports in connection with the Masterton Football Club came off •on the Club's 1 ground, Worksop road yesterday, (Monday), and was attended by about four hundred persons, The attraction of a football match in an adjoining paddock, proved too'much for the footballers, who left the sports ground, to witness the contest. From a racing, football, an 1 financial point ■the -sports-were a success; but to the non-enthusiasts' in the game (ladies included) things were rather slow. The ground was-rather hard and rough in places, but the racing was good, and good finishes made.
