.The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was l held on Saturday last. Present—Messrs Dagg (in tho chair) Welch and Johnston.' ' The minutes of last meeting wo read and confirmed, CORRESPONDENCE. From Messra R.. .Kibblewliito, A, Burnett, M'. Cemptoa, and' J. flajnor, asking the Board to take the necessary stops towards raising a loan of 1350, • under the Loaus to Local Bodies Aoc, 1880, for the purpose of forming and moialling.a Iwe of road, leading, from Fornridge Road to the Matahiwi road. From Masterton Borough Clark, re removal of timber on road at -Maaaia.. asking tho Board if they are willing to allow the timber to bo removed. From Colonial Treasurer, re moneyborrowed under the Loans and . Local Bodies Act, From Mr H, J. Christiansen, objecting to have a road' through his property at Dreyerton as it would be; no honotifr to him. . Mr . Donovan, complaining that the road leading to his property 'had been fencod across o&using him great inconvenience, and asking the Beard to give him access to his place. From.Bir J. Vogel, re. That Sir Julius Vogel be informed that, the Board Jiad : no funds for jubilee purposes, and ooneider it Wqild be' misappropriating the ratepayers money if dealt with for auoh' purposes. . /'• . :■ ■.
'..'That.the Board agree to the Masterton Borough Council's proposal with respect to the removal of timber on the boundary road at Manaia. .
That Mr A. Burnett be informed that he had better raise the money for the work himself, and when the proper time arrived to take a poll, and the Board would refund the money if the poll was favorable.
■ That; the sum voted, by the Council' be divided equally between No.'s 2 and 3 wards.
That the sum of £l7, voted some time ago, for work on the Fernridgo Road be now expended. Tlwt the Overseer inspect the work applied for by Mr D. McGregor, and report at next meoting. That the consideration of the forming and metalling of tho road from the main road to the Ruamahunga river be postponed till nest meeting. That steps be taken to recover all outstanding rates, due to March 81. That the Clerk preside .at'a meeting of ratepayers to behold at Mr Macara's farm, re the raising erf. £BSO under tho Loans to Local Bodies Act, The Clerk was instructed to take tho necessary steps for the oleotiou of warders for No.'s.B and 4 wards.. That Mr Donovan be informejl that the Board will give him 7 cwt.of wire for fencing the road 'through Mr Hessey's property, providing' he. does the'remainder of (lie work. That' Messrs Bruce, MoLeod, and Campbell be informed that the Board will expend £l2 for fencing through Mr'Sessey'is property at Opaki, providing they subscribe the balanQ?. of the money required. ■ ' -Wages and'account! amounting to : £270 were passed for payment and the; 'meatiug'icljourned.'
