UPPER TAUERU ROAD-BOARD.
The monthly meoting of this Board was held on Saturday, at Bowiajids. Present—The Chairman, Messrs Perry, Eutherford and Miller, ,' The minutes of preceding meeting were read and confirmed. j
On reading letter from County Clerk, as to conversion of roads and bridges loan in this district, it appearing that present-payments amount to £O7 3s, and the payments would amount to £2O 8s sd, overextended term-;of years. Resolved that the County be ■ requested to' convert the loan.
A circular from Sir Julius Vogel, dated March 24th, was read, asking for support for the Colonial institute, ■ -Mm Butberford proposed, and Mr Miller seconded,- that owing to the [ general public, and 'private indebtedness of this colony, the matter be deferred till the noxt Jubilee, Carried, Ordered that the following sums be granted:—The Government for putting up finger posts and work on road, three days, 18s; G, Haskell, for painting signs on finger posts, 15s. Mr Miller applied for £2 10s to be : refunded to him for extra work done on his line. Granted.
