Greyjiouth, March 18.

William Kettle, a baker in very good position, a sober, steady living man, left his bed about 12 on Tuesday night to set his batch of bread, and has not since been seen, His assistant came about 1.80, but could find him nowhere Mrs Kettle telling him that Kettle went to the workhouse at 12. Search has been made persistently ever since, but no trace has been found. He had been in rather weak health and low spirits for some time back, but his wife had no reason to suspect anything wrong with his mental state. Tho exit from everyday life is considered mysterious, but no explanation can be given at present. Mr Kettle has been a teetotaler for many years and was well enough off,to retire from business.
