Messrs Blatchford and Martin waited': on the Board in reforenco to the loan of £7lO proposed to be raised for the J Rangitumau road, objecting to being included in the rating area nnder the j following circumstances: jftfr Blatchford said he had no access to the roati for which the loan was; tip .be raised except through Mr Martin's land, end Mt Martin refused to give a legal right of road without compensation for land and fencing. Mr Blatchford said he had offered £SO some time ago for the • road through Mr Martin's property, but it was insufficient, and he now submitted that as the loan included. £IOO compensation to Mr MoLachlan it should be increased so as to compensate Mr Martin. ; The Board agreed to ■ consider the ' objection raised in fixing: the boundaries of the'special rating ares, and in. the meantime, advised, the deputation to try and arrange the road difficulty between themselves. . Mr J. W. .Wobdroffe wnplalned that a gate had been taken' down on his property at Upper Manala, and that some totara had been fallen on the,line of road, which had removed his pegs.
