Bunny suggested that s copy of this resolution be sent to the Waste Lands Board and ask for ' their cooperation in the matter. ■ The motion was carried. Cr Phillips moved that'a petition U;sent to the Government, to , alter , ths " statute so as to extend the time, allowing local bodies to take advan* tage of roads which hare been laid off. The motion was seconded pro form by Cr H, R. Bunny, After several councillors had spoken to the motion, apd pointed.out that W lands are sold by the Government until tho'roads are surveyed off, the motion was lost. ~
This concluded the ordinary business, and the Council then went into » special meeting for deolaring certain * parts of tho district as spools! rating , ; districts under the Local Bodies Loans Act, 18SV '. ■;. r.'
