AKITIO ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Board was held-at Aehanga on Saturday last.- PresentMessrs Cox (Chairman), Liverton, Baker, and Handyside. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

Tho following correspondence was read: -From Mr McHutchon, offering to act as dork for two pounds a sitting, which waa accepted, he was also appointed Treasurer and Collector, at a salary of fifteen pounds porannum:from the Cashpoint Road Board, with statement of accounts, shewing an amount ot £396 11b 6d duo from thntßoard to the'Akitio Board; From Mr Brown, with'a section map of the •distriotfcosts £6 5s 8d ; From tho Couuty Engineer, re map of the district; From Messrs Rawson and Maokay, ro map; From Mr W. A. Burling, applying for a grant of £ls or £29, .to make a cutting on tho dray truck on Bushy Range; Messrs Payton&Co., with an account of 30s which was passed- for payment j From tho County ; Clerk to Mr Handyside, ro the constitution of the Akito Riding at once. . It was resolved that tho Council bo roquestod to proceed with tho constitution of tho Akitio Riding at once. That this Board accept tho amount of £398 lh 6d in settlement of accounts between this Board and tho, Cashpoint Board. That a sum of not more than £2O be. expended in nuking a cutting uu the west side of Bushy Range, That a sum of £5 be voted to repair the road in tho creek above Mataikuna Station. That this Board apply to tho Cashpoint Road Board for all tracings, plans, and maps of roads in this district. That tho County Council's attention be drawn to tho state of tho road near Aohanga Station, and that they bo rcquestod to have it.ropaired before the wot weather sets in. The Treasurer was directed to open • an account with the Bank of Now Zealand Wellington. The Chairman was requested to make enquiries ro cos't of map. The next meeting will be held on Saturday, the 26th March. ■■ Tho meeting then terminated.
