[to the editor.] Sir.—As the statement of the Mayor at the last meeting of the Council " that I accompanied him with Mr George to theGasworkßforthoinspectiqn o£ the tank and works" ia incorrect, and is loading to 'correspondence on the subject, I beg to state that I never had the pleasure of meeting Sir George in Mastorton or out of it, I intended to correct.the error when first rriado, but it quite slipped ray memory. 1 am, etc, T.
