TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.

A special meeting of the abovo Board was held on Saturday last, Prosont —Messrs B. Boys (Chairman), H. Braithwaite, J. Stevens, W. Parker, E. W. Dorset, J. Eaynor, and N. Grace.. Moved by Mr Braithwaite, seconded by Mr Dorset, that' tho special rato under the Local Bodies -Loan Aot, 1886, bo levied upon tho districts as read by tho Clerk, Carried. .Tho Chairman, and Messrs Braitk■waitoand Dorset were appointed to «ign the rato book for the samo. Com- , plaints-were made about the amount • citrates which wore outstanding', : and 'especially 1 as it was so near the ond of J&e Board's financial year, and tho • perk informed the Board that he had sent circulars round requesting payment, and had, in faot, dono "everything ho could, short of summoning, but all of no avail. He was then . authorised to notify by advertisement • that all outstanding rates bo sued for unless immedisio payment be made. Besolved, that the trees on tho right of Park road, be fellod one ' - chain in width from the road, the saino to be done by day work, and that tho eost of the samo be made against Mr E.. C. Carter. Mr Torensen applied to be remunerated for clearing out the drain on Park road. Allowed to stand over till the regular monthly meeting •of the Board. Mr Braithwaite got permission to employ Mr Strawbridge in metalling the road at Wailwkcke, and the meeting terminated.
