MR BEETHAM AT TINUI.

Maunsell wished.to know Mr Beetham's ideas with respect to possible economies in educational expenditure, Mr Beetham explained that he once advocated that free education should only be found for children- un to. the fourth standard.butinye.tigatio'ip oved that education in the'' ni'tii" aid- si ;oii standards were comparatively inexpensive. He promised'to insist on economy in all branches of the publicservice, but he could not agre'o' to'sacrifice primary education.

A vote of thanks to Mr Beetham was moved by Mr Maunsell, seconded by Mr Stillborn, and was carried with acclamation. Mr Beetham then thanked the electors for .meeting him in such numbers, and a vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
