The coat produced is one similar to the one handed to me. 1 gave the coat to ConstaMe Eccleton at Wainuiorii, When I went back I found the dotir ajar, I cannot .say whether the key was in the lock or not.

To the prisoner: The man which I saw was some yards from the house, I believe I have seen you about Mr Buchanan's place.

' Manaheri Tahana, deposed: I know the accused. I remember the day after Christmas Day. I saw the accused near my residence at \Vnipoapoa, He had a dark colored shirt on, a black hat, and lylit tweed trousers; the hat now produced I identify as the Rame worn by the accused. He had a parcel in his hand which I took to be a coat with the lining outwards. The one now produced is similar -40. the one I saw the accused';with." -Tue accused had qn a white neskerchief with colored borders; • the, now produced is like it..
