WASTE LANDS BOARD.

The usual meeting of the Waits Lands Board was held yesterday morning, atthu Grown Lauds Oi'Bse, there being presont Messrs' Marchant (Chairman),'' Bunny, Fitzherbort, Reeße, and MoCardle^. C Hoy, of Omea. to capitalize section 15, Block XII, and C." T. Simpson to capitalize section 55, Block XIII, Pohangiua, were granted. The tender of Mr E. T. (Jruvillo for section 60, Block I, Makuri, waß accepted. Mr J. R. Anderson made an application for some land up the Pohanjina River as ..a email run. It was resolved that a Burvey be made at the applicant's cost, to be approved of by tho Board.; otherwise the land in the vicinity to bo surveyed at as early a date as possible.' In reply to Mr A. McDonald's application for land in the Gorge Survey District as a small run, it was intimated that tho Board approved of the land being offered as soon as' possible. The Crown Lands Ranger reported that improvements to the extent of £5 had beon effected on Section 28, Block V., Popuaranga, aud it was resolved to offer the lane's by auction on deferred payraont, weighted with £5, as soon as possible. Further correspondence was received in relation to the alleged partnership between Messrs Adams and Phillipson in section 2 Block IV., Kaiwhata, andaftor disoussion it was resolved to obtain all the information procurable from Hawkes Bay as to the lands hold by Mr Adamß, and the Commissioner- be instructed to take steps to turn Mr Simp, son off tho Bcction. An application was received from the Greytown Borough Council and the Waiohino River Board applied for Crown Londs north Greytown West to bo vested in them at at onco, as they had decided to pay Messrs Fuller and Gallagher the £3l compensation for imnrovenients. It was resolved. that proof be given of the payment, and a survey be made.beforo vesting the land in the local bodies, The Buard was asked by Mr T. Moire to fell, clear and fence the boundary lino between sections 377 and 882, and 378 and 383, Block XIX., Mikimiki, and was informed that tlie Board would be most happy to asa'st him if pi-asiblo. MrT. Sanson having doclared that he had lost the original lease of section 159!), Block 1X„ Kairanga, it was resolved to issue a new lease. An application was received from MrC. Phillips for a fencing boundary at Dry River, adjoining sections 86, 66, 75, and 74. On the ranger's report being read, it was resolved that tho land be surveyed and offered to the public, and that road access be provided. The Wairarapa East County Council and. Mr W. JH. Beetham wrote, objnofcing to the islands in the Wmugawa river boing loused or disposed of. It was therefore resolved to cancel a previous resolution to dispose of tho lands, It. was resolved that Mr Uirroll's application for two pieces of Crown land staid over until 'next meeting. Mr' M, Nilson applied to bo allowed to take suction 5, Block XI., Manpaono, on deferred payment, although ho already had "ectious on. de f erred payment and perpetual lease. It was resolved to allow him to put in an application* The question of tho sppoial mMin;/ oalled for Friday, the 20th November lest, was considered, but no action was taken. Mr McCardle gave notice of motion that the meetings of the Board, be held monthly instead of fortnightly. It was moved by Mr Bunny that all papers bearing on tho resolution paucd by the Board, with referoncu to the reservo on the.wost side of the main road opposite the Pabiatua village be sent to tho Government with a request that their resolution be carried out. The motion was seconded by Mr WoCardlo and carried.. The Board then adjourned.—Evening Press.
