The Spring Show of tho above Society was hold yesterday in the Town Hall, and'was fairly snos'ossful considering tho lateness of the season. The display of pot plants was veiy iniall owing principally to the high, wind daring the previous night and morning of the show, preventing several exhibitors from bringing out their plants. The show of cut blooms, although not equal to former years, was, nevertheless, a very good one, The truit and vegetables were also vory numerous and go id. Farm produce was not very largely represented, but the fancy work and needlework entries were very large and of oxdUnt description, Penmanship had a class to itself and some really good specimens were exhibited, particularly two very fiuo maps, one of tho North and one of the South Island of New Zealand by Master L. St George, this year a new departure was taken in introducing poultry into the show, and Borne excellent ontrics were made by Messrß MoKenzie and Bright, King and Jones, Canaries were oonspiouous by their absence only two being shown. Though an unfortunate mistake in entering a splendid exhibit of plain Bowing by the children of the Greytown sohool, was not looked at by the judges, Mossrs MoShane, Evoretfc, Spoariuk, Jwksou, Donald, Bock, and Boys, aoted sb judgos. Mesdaraes WobMu, Tully, and Haines, acting in the sauio oapaoity in tho sowing and fancy work classes, all riving thorough satisfaction. Mr Biggins, the Secretary was most active and obliging in the discharge of his onerous duties. jThe attendance at the show was very good. Tho Privato B.wd enlivening the proceeding during the evening.
