TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the abovo Board was held on Saturday. Present-Messrs B. Boys (Chairman) H. R. Bunny, N. Grace, E. W. Dorset, J. Rayner, W. Parker and James Stevens The mlnutos of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Oorreßponde'nco was read from Mr E. Morgan re fencing road which the Board has laid oil through his property. It was resolved that the request be acceded to. Prom Mr Anderson re the road at Woodside. From Mr Joe. Archer, informing the Board that he had disposed of his property and that the present owner's name be placed on tho rate book in the place of his. From Messrs Hodgins and Ray asking that transfer of certain lands be made in the rate-book.: alao from Messrs Smith andNeilsenre the same. All the requests wore acceded to. From Colonial Treasurer re the loan advising the Board to reduce their application to £3OOO, as over that amount could not be entertained.
Application from J. Blondquist re transferring some land to 0. Blondquist. The application being informal no action was taken.
It was resolved that certain persons on the Taratahi be requested to remove the gorse which is on the roads.
A. request was'made by Messss Jensen and Robinson te, road to their property Waingawa Gully.' The Chairman &
formed the Board that they had had • a bridle track out at their own request, a„d as to making a road where they wioh to, have one made is quite impossible, even if the Ward had the nocessary funds to do it with, which it has not. It was re; solved that the applicant be informed of the facts of the matter. '.'"■/
Mr M. Riley waited.on the Boar&with' reference to some culverts on a road leading to his proparty, Mr Booth groniisoi to meet thVapplicant at 4 p.m to-day' to see if anything could be done.' ' ,' Moved by Mr Booth, andjecondedby,' Mr H. E. Bunny, that the Town Board, be informed that Wards No. 3 and 6 are not prepared to incur any further expense on dividing roads.botween." the"TownBoard and th 3 said Wards, Some accounts were passed hi payments. Mr Booth asked that tenders be called for falling 30 chains of bush on' Chewstreet, also metalling 90 chains on the Hinan Gully road, and also for 32 chains of wiro fencing. Mr H. R. Bunny movod that a survoybe made of a-picwof road from Gladstone to Pahau, and to call for tenders for the formation of the same. Mrßayner asked that tenders be called, for re formation of 20 ohains on Reynolds Road, The Chairman asked the Wardens to bring with them at the noxt meetin? the names of all intending name of roads in their Wards,, Mr J. Bayner asked that tenders' be called for 20 chains of formation on. Hughes'line.
