Masterton v Greyiown,
The return match between the above Clubs was played at Greytown on Saturday last, and resulted in a hollow defeat of the visitors by an innings and one run, This result was anticipnted by many from the very weak team which travelled to the winning township, Messrs Moore and-Hawke captained the teams, Mr T, Wakelin acting as umpire for Masterton, and Mr W. Udy for Greytown." For Masterton Perry and Littlejohn batted exceedingly well, the former especially playing a.fine game when he was.ruii out. The same player also bowled well'for Ru team, and had he been put on agaih at •the latter eiid of the Greytown innings, the probabilities afe the score would 1 not have been anything like so high, as : the last three wiokets put on a good deal more than half the sopre. ' W; : Judd made top goore for his side with 35; gbt .principally by hard slogging, Rutherfiird getting hia runs in the rame style. , Stokes (Masterton), and Hawke (Greytown) played well
behind the wickets, though the fotrrtekf was a good deal out of sorts. The following aro the scores • Mastebton—-Ist Inuin«a. Littlejohn, bW. Judd... .... ... 20 Bobiaon, b,W.
