LORD MANDEVILLE is.adark bay with black points, stands 15 hands 3 inches, his whole contour beinp very handsome, haß a neat expressive head, shoulders deep and well laid back, and s<ood enough for anything. Yattondon (sire of Lord Mandeville) is the sire of the famous Grand Flaneur, who was the best 3-year-old performer on the Australian turf, never having been beaten in any race he started for, winning in 1880 the Victorian Derby, St. Leger, and Melbourne Cup, Australian J.C. Derby and Champion Raco. Yattondon is also the Biro ,of Cheater (who in his turn sired First Chester), who also won the Victorian Derby and Melbourne Oup, doing the 2 miles in the fast time of 3mm 32seo, carrying Bst 31bs. Lord Burghley, full brother to Lord Mandeville, is a groat performer on tho turf, he won the 71bs, in the fastest time on record, Yattondon was airo of Mr Walter's famous ■ mare Yattorina, who, after her victories on the ttirf, added fresh laurels to her • name by producing Libeller to Traducer, Matchlock, Fusileer, and Musketeer to Musket, and Kingfish (who has juab won the Hawkesbury Guineas) to Piscatorious. An inspection of the above record will shew that Lord Mandeville comes from a fast and famous family of blood stock, being full of Waxy strain. He has proved himself a sure foal-getter; has distinguished himself well on the turf, having never lost a race when starting for weight-for-age and welter weight-for-age. Ho took first; prize at Richmond Agricultural Show, Nelson; he also took first prize at the Marlborough Agricultural Show. RAPID ROAN is brother to the famous trotting mare Nolly. RAPID ROAN has only been shown five times, and has taken two first and three Becond prizes. He is a very fast trotter; has first-class action and a splendid temper. RAPID ROAN stood in Timaru and Temuka districts for five years, and has left the best roadsters and carriage horses in Canterbury, Terras—£3 10s single mare; groomage fee.ss.
