Trickster was quickest on his legs from an exoollent start; but when they had settled down Spado Guinea and Loohiel were in .front with Alpine Bose, Trickster, • Waitiri, and Quibble heading the ruck, and Moana last. Passing the stand, Lochiel was in command with the other horses mentioned close up, and Maona last. At Cutt's, Patrician and Quibble slightly improved their position, but fell back again at Ford'B, where Lochiel was still in command, with Spade Guinea, going well second. At the home turn Spado Guinea got her head in front, and Loohiel fell back. Nelson came with a great rush in the straight, but could never catch tho mare, who won easily by a length and a half; Loohiel a fair third, Waitiri lourth, and Disowned fifth. Time, 3min 32sec.
