WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
The fortnightly meeting of the Laud Board was held yesterday. PresentMessrs Marchant (Chairman), Bunny, McCardle, Fitzherbert and Reese. The return for crown lands showed tho laud sold since last meeting as 3,126 acres, the price being £80!) Bs. The Commissioner reported that Mr McCardle had been appointed a member of the Board.
r The selector of section ICO2, Block IX., Kawanga, sent an explanation why his improvements had not been effected. It was resolved to grant him an extension of time. Mr Harrison, selector of section 22, Pohangina, asked to be allowed to capitate his unpaid instalments.-Agreed to. The lessee of small run No. 16, Momahaki, wrote, abandoning tho same. It was resolved to ask what improvements had beon effected, and declare the section forfeited after sixty days, and the abandment be accepted, An application was received from Mr Alexander, lessee of small run £io. 27, Tokamario Block, to transfer the same to Mr E. A, Campbell. Application granted. The Mauricevillo Road Board submitted proposals for the expenditure of deferred-payment third and perpetual lease thirds accrued to the .Board. Approved. Proposals were received from the Upper Wnngaehu Road Board for the expenditure of a fourth from small run 'payments accrued to tho Board. Approved, Permission was also given to the Pahiatua, Alfredton, Kiwitea, and Mauricevillo Road Boards in accordance with a similar request. Mr F. J. Hamilton applied to be considered the 'lessco of Section 5, Block XVI., Mangahao, his claim being delayed in Chriatchurch. Not acceded to. Proposals were submitted by the Commission for the sale of land on perpetual lease in the Waitotara District. Proposals approved of; date to bo fixed by the Commissioner, A letter was received from Mr Gallagher in reference to Mr claim for part of the compensation for improvements effected on Crown Lands near Greytown, and stated that the claim was without foundation It was resolved that the mattor stand ovor for tho present, Mri3eetham, M.H.R., a member of the Board, wrote suggesting that tho Alfredton Recreation Ground should bo vested in the Road Board at Alfredton and that the balance of the town sections be offered for sale. Resolved that the
