Auckland, this day. The Hon Mr Ballancc received a number of deputations this morning, and, with Mr Lundon, made the final arrangements in connection with tho village settlement scheme at Hokianga, Important arrangements were also made regarding special settlements in tho Tuakau district. There are 26 settlers willing to take up land there on a 3000 acres block, and 9500 acres of broken land is to be leased in runs of COO acres each at 3d per acre on the perpetual leasing system. Another block there, containing 10,000 acres of agricultural land, will be opened for special settlement, The Government will also try to acquire 30,000 acres of good land in the same district which is still m native hands. Bluff, this day. The Government schooner "Kekeno," and the topsail schooner "Maul of Otago," were wrecked at the Bluff Harbor last nu'ht during a heavy easterly gale. The latter completely disappeared. The crews were rescued.
