Tenders for the following works were acceptod:—Drain and culvert, Portland Road, P., Butler, £lßlßs [footpath &>., main street, E. Butler, £2 Is per chain, and 1 chains. formation; culvejt Rutland road, M. Boyle; for £fl 12s;^f Mr Conradson applied for permission to put a sign at the corner of Library-street. The application was not entertaindL.

Some discussion -arose about the local Fire Brigade, when it waa moved by Mr CaHister seconded by Mr Gardener that a donation of £5 a yoar be given so long as tho brigado continues to work in a satisfactory manner. The motion was carried This concluded the business and tho meeting terminated.-
