The ordinary monthly meeting was held yesterday. Present—-.Messra. W. H. Beetham (Chairman) Buick, Johnston and Welch. An apology was received from 11. D. Dudding euohmng a cheque for special rate, and requesting that the vote for tho road beyond Brancepeth be spent thereon, - Prom the Chairman of the Mauriceville Road Board intimating that a deputation would meet the Board for the purpose of adjusting accounts. From E. Meredith, applying for payment of Messrs Izard and Bell's account, £4 9s 6d, for preparing title of laud required for road to Unti shipping place. It was resolved that tenders be called for work on the ..Upjtor; Manaia road to the eitent of £6O, anil that a similar amount be expended on the .- Low Manaia road. It was reaolved.to send the voadmen to open drains on" the road leading to Mr Budding's property. It wa.B decided- to hold over the consideration of Mr E. Meredith's letter till the next meeting.Consideration of work required to bo done in No. 3 Ward was also held over. The Overseer waa instructed to have tho slips cleared in the" 1 Maqgaone rord. Accounts amimnting. to £4B <sd lOd wero passed for pajment,' A deputation fropi-the Mauriceville Road Board; consisting of Messrs Jessen and Jackson waited upon the Board .for the purpose of adjusting aeeount?, The Chairman of the Maaterton Rnad Board read a statement showing the revenue-of the Mauricoville district for tho past tun years from rates and subsidies thereon. The balance expended .in excess of receipts amounted to £1? Oa 6d. This sum was due by the new Mauriceville Road Board to the Masterton Board on the former beooming a separate district. Some considerable discussion took place,'which resulted in : the amouht being reduced to £llßs Cd, whiph sum the representatives 00 behalf of the Mauriceville Road .Borrd agreed to pay. The sum of £144 Is lid had been received by the Masterton Board, being deferred payment thirds, on land sold in the Mauricovillo district. This amount had been expended in the formation and making of tho South Mauriceville road, with the exception of the sum of £l3 6s Bd, which it was rosolved to haud over to tho Mauriceville.Board to expend, This concluded the business. \ 1
