SAVING THE TEETH.

At a lecture delivered at the Bui loon Society, by Mr Isidore 0. Clifford (in the absence of Dr R. Clifford) at the Aquarium, Westminster, the lecturer said that in America there were twenty-one good dental hospitals with experienced men at the head of every branch, each of which was made a .speciality. . Tbero were those who devoted their time to filling teeth, others to making of artificial teeth, others' to extracting teeth, while many gave themselves entirely to the treatment of the gums. Each thus became perfect in his special branch. Dr Bqnwell's electric mallet was capable of striking 2,000 blows a minute, and there could he litilj doubt that in time electricity would become the motor power for all dental instrument. The lecturer then stated that they had now learned to control the teeth, and not to be controlled by them. They found out that if necessary they could take a tooth out, cut off the debased end, replace it, and it would grow firm again in a few days. Transplanting was also successfully carried out, and a number of means of swing teeth have been discovered, He advised his hearers pot to be so ready to part with these useful members, but if afflicted to place themselves in the bauds of their dentists in. time, and they could almost indefinafcely postpone the wearing of artificial teeth.
