MASTERTON HOSPITAL.
The regular monthly meeting of the Trustees was held in the Institute yesterday, Prwent,*—Messrs Boddington (chairman), W. Perry, J. loms and B. P, Perry. Apologies were read from the Rev W, E. Paige and W. H. Beetham, the latter being engaged at a meeting of the District Board at Wellington. The Treasurer reported the receipt of subscriptions since last mooting of £3O 19s; Borough Council grant, £2B; County Council. £2o; total, £Bol6s 8tl; liibilitics. £lOl 17b 6d. After the subsidy was received there would be a credit balance of £55 5s Vd.
A letter was road from Messm Williams i\ud Boetliam stating that the Trnstecs should have the first offer of a- piece of land adjoining the back of the Hospital grounds if at any time it was put up for sale.
The diary was read, and the Chairman stated there were no cases in the Hospital at the present time.
Accounts, Oaselberg & Co. £lO 2s, T. 6. Mason £6 7s 2d were passed for payment.
The Chairman said the Borough and County Council having paid*their grants before the 30th June they had been enabled to apply for their subsidy from Government, It would be competent, for the County and Borough Councils each to appoint some one to represent them on the Hospital Committee. The Ohairman'said as soon as the subscription on the list had been collected by the Treasurer, circulars vould have to be sent out, specially to invite donations Ho thought Government should give , a greater subsidy than the 24a per pound proposed in the. amendment, There being no other business Mrß, P. Perry was appointed visiting member and the meeting adjourned.
