GBEBTOWN.—WEDNESDAY.

(Before H, A. Stbatford, R.M.)

James Driscoll was charged by F. H. Wood with having, as bailiff of two horses and a dray, fradulently converted them to his own use. Mr Gray, who appeared for the prosecution, stated' he did not intend to offer any evidence, and the case was dismissed.

James Andrew' Haxton waß charged with failing to support his wife, Maria Haxton.

Defendant applied for a remand, to enable Mr Jellicoe to appear for him. A further information charged defendant with having disobeyed an order of the Court, whereby ho was ordered to pay his wife £3 a month. Defendant was remanded to Peatherston until Thursday, at 11 a.m., bail boing accepted for his appearance. Karsen Petersen applied to the Court, by Mr Gray, for an order against her husband, Hans Peter Petersen, whoreby he would be made to contribute towards the support of his son Frederick, who was in tho lawful custody of the wife, under a protection order already granted. Defendant was ordered to pay 7s a week towards the. support of the child.

Fabian Bros. ? Huni Matiaha.—Debt L 34125. Defendant did not appear, but Bent a telegram to Bay that he waß sick. Judgment for plaintiff for L3l 15s and costs.

John Fabian v Forbes and Sanders.— Claim, rent Ll7. The evidence of one of the defendants was taken at Opunake, in which he pleaded that the cause of action arose at that place, and therefore the Resident Magistrate here had no jurisdiction to try the case. The Court upheld this view, and ordered that the case be struck out with costs to defendant 31s,

T. Zillwood vW. Harman.—Rent etc., IA 16s. Judgment for plaintiff with costs. ' ' <

Vere White v W. McLaren.—Claim for 107 dozen rabbit skins of rabbits destroyed on defendant's run, Plaintiff was nonsuited.

John Fuller v Walter Bishop.—Debt L 5 7s. Judgment by defauft for amount and costs,
