MAURICEVILLE ROAD BOARD.
■A meeting of the Board was held on Tuesday last, Present-Messrs W. Jessen (Chairman), 6. Gundersen, & Forsberg,. H. Wt Jackson, P.' Andersen. Corre'spondence-From Minister of Public Works promising to give application favorable, consideration; from the Secretary' Post Office Department, re repairs to bridges; from tho : Clerk Masterton Road Board, re-reduction of the interest .on loans under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act; from, the Chief Surveyor, asking for information of map required; from Mr Georgo Franklin, applying for permanent-.appointment as Clerk; from settlers on Mauriceville North road offering to do certain work if the Board would subsidize it with equal amount, Resolutions—lt was resolved to advertise in the Masterton papers alternately. That Mr Franklin be appointed permanent Clerk at a salary of £ls per 1 year. That the offer of the settlers of Mauriceville North be accepted. That the request of the Masterton Road Board, re circular, be acceded to. That the County Council be applied to to erect a pound, That a rate of 3d in the £' be'struck. The Chairman, Mr Gunderson was appointed collector, Two separate sums of £5 each were voted on the South and-West Roads respectively. It was resolved to apply to the Waste Lands Board for a statement showing theamount .of money accruing, to the deferred payment thirds and leasehold fourths. It was resolved to apply to the Masterton Board for a statement showing the amount of rates and subsidies received and money expended in the Mauriceville district during the financial year, from April Ist 1884, to-March 31k1886.
