Mr Mncandrew brought up a report of the joint committee containing the address to Her Majesty on the occasion of the Queen's jubilee. He pointed out that there was no part of Her Majesty's dominions in which a stronger feeling of loyalty was displayed than in New Zealand. He referred in eloquent terms to the beneficent reign of tho present and said the world was now probably on the eve of great changes, but he hoped whatever else would pass away that wherever the British flagwas unfurled the same sentiment of loyalty to Her Majesty would continue. Sir Robert Stout seconded the adoption "of the report. Stout introduced the Hospital and Charitable Aid Act Amendment Bill. Major Atkinson introduced theOpunake Harbour Board Bill, - The, Wyndham Showground Reserves Act, Amendment Bill, Haka-Taramea Race Course Reserve Bill, and the Wnnganui Harbour Bill were read a second time.. The House went into Committee on the One Tree Hill Reserve Bill, Mr Peacock opposed tho Bill and moved that the Chairman leave the chair. —Lost by 32 to 21. ■ • The House went into Committee on tho One Tree Hill Reserve Bill. The speaker (Sir Maurice O'Rorko) who was. in charge ot the Bill, made a lengthy explanation of its purpose, Mr Peacock opposed the Bill and moved that the Chairman leave the chair. Messrs Dargaville and Hobbs ahoopposed'the Bill. The motion that the Chairman leave tho ohair, after a long discussion, was loßt by 32 to 21. Mr'Dargaville'moved to report progress, The debate was interrupted by the 5.30 adjournment. On resuming, .the House continued in Committee on the Employment of Females Bill. Various amendments wore proposed, which elicited long discussions, but nono were carried. The Bill was eventually passed without alteration. A new clause,, compelling employers of saleswomen in retail places of business to provide sufficient sitting accommodation for their uso when not actively engaged on duty, was added, and the Bill reported with amendments,

■The Wellington and Wanganui Education Districts, and tho Fish Auction and Small Birds Nuisance Amendment Bills were passed through Committee. A number of amendments were proposed in tho but were successfully resisted. The Bouse rose at 1,15 a.m.
