EKETAHUNA BOAD BOARD.
The first meeting of this Board was held at the residence of Mr Tito's. Bayliss. .on', the 27th inst, All the members—Messrs Anderson, Bayliss, McDonald, Wilson, and Vince—were present. The first business of the meeting was the election of a Chairman, and on the motion of Mr Vince seconded by Mr Anderson, Mr Bayliss was unanimously elected to that office for tho ensuing year.' The Board resolved that a paid Clerk be appointed. Mr William Bayliss was • appointed. Clerk, Collector, and Returning Officer at a Balary ot £2O pur annum, and was instructed to make inquiries respecting a seal for the Board.
It was resolved, that tho ordinary meetings of the Board .be held pn .the next Saturday evening after every'full liioona't half-past seven o'clock. It was also resolved, That the Clerk write to Mr F. G. Moore, County dork,' asking him to procure for the Board a set of office book; to the Clerk of the Alfredton Rond Board asking for a return of all the monieß expended by the AKrodton Road Board on works in tho how district of Eketahuna from May Ist, 1884, to May Ist, 1883, and tho source from which such monieicamo, and to make arrangements for a meeting of tha!two Boards to Bottle up the accounts between them ; to the Waste Lands Board asking for a schedule of moniea now payable to the Eketahuna Road District from deferred payment thirds and leasehold fourths It was agreed to opon an account with the Bank of New Zealand.
Correspondence, inwards, was road from Mr J. Norlmg, requesting that a road be made to his section; from Rawson & Mackay ottering to do any engineering work for the Board. Resolved—ThatMrNorlin? be informed that tho Board would opon hia road as soon as funds wore available for that purpose. That tho Clerk inform Meßsis Rawson and Maokay that their application had been received and would bo considered,
Tho Returning Officer's account, fees and expenses £2 10s were passed. The meeting then adjourned.
