MASTERTON TOWN LANDS TRUST.
The regular monthly meeting of the Trustees was held in the Council Chambers last night. The Clerk notified the election of two new Trustees, Messrs R. Hare and E. E. Chamberlain. The question of appointing a permanent Chairman was held over for a larger attendance, MrE, Fe'rstwas voted" to the chair yro tern, the only other Trustees present being Messrs J. Muir and R. Hare, The minutes of the previous meeting were conhrmed. . An application was made ? by Mr 0, Dixon to transfer his interest in | acre town section No. 72 to James Petrie. ' The transfer was agreed to, the lease to be prepared without any delay. An account for printing-and advertising in" the Wairarapa Daily of £8 3s was passed forpayment. Mr Hare moved, and Mr Muir seconded, that the annual sum of £56 granted to the Park Trust, be paid quarterly. The Treasurer reported that the balance on hand at the last meeting was £loßlss Rents received since £4l 12s 6d. Total £l5O 7s 6d. Grant, £ls; Audit fees, £2 2s, leaving a balance in hand of £133 6s 6d. Tenders for leasing Town landß for one year.—o. Madsen, 10s per acre—equal to £2 5s per acre; H. Mawliiny, for If acre paddock, £3 33; H. Mawhinay, for paddock opposite Public School, £5 per acre; F. D. Polling, for If acre paddock, £3 as; for paddock opposite church, P. Treacy, £3 3s.
The tenders of H. Mawhinay for one paddock at £5, and P. Treacy one at £3 3s were accepted. It was resolved that tenders be invited from persons having property to dispose of with a view to investing the £350 now in the hands of tho Trustees.
Tho Secretary reported that Mrs Morris had appliod to be allowed to continue the lease of section part 24, Town Acre, at the present rental, and to pay off the arrears by weekly payments of 10s.
Mr Hare said it was a hard case for Mrs Morris, but the Trustees would be compelled to take possession of the premises.
The Secretary said tho leaso to Mr Morrjswas in the hands of the solicitor.
The Chairman said there was no guarantee that the arrangement would be carried out, and what she did would not be bindintr on her husband. . It was resolved that the question stand over, tho Secretary to arrange in the meantime to get possession. Mr Hare handed in tho proposed rules for the guidance of the Trustees, which were read at the last meeting, and moved their adoption.
: Mr Muir seconded.—Carried. - Sundry leases were dealt with and finally signed. Leave of absence was granted Mr Hare from the next meeting.
