CORRESPONDENCE.

A HOSPITAL SUNDAY,

[To the Editor,]

Sir.—l see by the Wellington papers, that the Chairman, Mr F. H. Fraser, (from whom I should have expected better things) has been trying to raise money for the Wellington Hospital by sending a box to the racemeetings for the pnrpese of obtaining subscriptions. The result proved that th» hospital trustees were wrong to take such a step as to seek to increase their revenue by such doubtful means, There is in the old country a more honorable and satisfactory of increasing the revenue of the hospitals, and that is by setting aside a Sunday for hospital work, when all the Churches unite in the one object, and all the collections at the various churches are handed in to a general committee for distribution amongst the hospitals. - There iB a hospital Saturday also in England, by which the funds of the institutions are increased. If you will kindly find space for this in

your columns, it may not be room taken - upin vain. ' . . lam &c,, Subscriber. ' [A hospital Sunday in this district would virtually be a taion clergymen which they can ill afford to pay.-rEn. W. D.
