LAND BOARD.
': •- The usual meeting of the Land Board was held this morning at 10. o'clock. Presents-Messrs H. Bunny W A Fitzherbort, W. W. McCardle, Geo! Beetham, M.H.H., and A. Reese. In the absence of the Chief Commissioner Mr Bunny occupied tlie chair. A telegram was read from Chief Commissioner Marchant dated at Pahiatua stating that he regretted that he was unable to attend. The .following applications for Crown lands wore received and approved of. by the Board:—A. Cope, one acre section, £I9C, Township of Hunterville, £6; L. M. Croseboon, 13 acres Township of Hunterville, on deferred payments, upset price £65; W. McKenzie, 202 acres Mangaoue, for pastoral lease, J£2o2. The transfer of section 101, Block H., Kopuranga, from Mr A/Osborneto M. O'Brien was approved. Also transfer of section 29 Block X., Pohangina, from E. Broder,lck to S. Broderick.
. Mr J. W. Thureton, selector of section 7, Block IV., Omahine, asked to capitalise the unpaid instalments on the same. The application was granted. Mr W. D. Kibblewhite forwarded "j claim for improvements effected on section IX., and asked to be allowed to capitalise the unpaid instalments. Proposed by Mr McCardle, That the applica. tion be granted provided the Ranger report favorably on it,. Seconded ,by Mr Beetham and carried. A letter was read from the Chairman of the Alfredton Road Board complaining of the delay, in supplying the statement of deferred payments on thirds. An explanation frolp the Receiver of Land Revenue was read, and it was resolved,. ," That the statement be now supplied." Mr W. Jessed wrote asking that all deferred payments on thirds due to the Masterton Road Board be withheld, as the district is about to be divided. The letter was laid on the table. The same gentleman wrote regarding the insertion of certain back pegs in Mauriceville, and complaining that the survey work previously promised had not been done. On the motion of Mr McCardle, it was resolved that the work be proceeded with at once, and that the. 1 attention of the Government be called to a resolution passed by the Board at a previous meeting regarding the delay in effecting surveys. Mr H, Axup wrote complaining of the delay in not having a survey made in the Ruahine Ranges of land there applied for by him. It was decided to let the matter stand over until the return of'the Chief Commissioner, The'selectors of the Mangaone Blocks applied to have the back pegs inserted, a similar reply was ordered to be sent as that given to Mr Jessen. ■ Mr T. Salter, selector of section 110, Block 11., Kopuaranga,. applied for a bridge to. be put across the river to enable him to get on his land. It was resolved that Mr Salter be requested to forward & tracing showing tho place where it was proposed to place tho bridge. Messrs W. G, and A. R. Woon applied to take up the lease of small run No. 24. It was stated that the land would shortly be open, and applications could then be received.
The Under-Secretary for Grown Lands wrote requesting that all unsold small runs be thrown open for application ai soon as possible.
The Mayor of Greytown North wrote with reference to a portion of the Town Belt, requesting that it be convoyed to that Borough as a Public Reserve, The matter was adjourned till next meeting. The Board then adjourned.—Evening Press.
