Mr Anderson (Engineer) laid the plans of Stoney Creek Road, as surveyed by him, on the table. The plans "were., were approved of, and instructions given to advertise them. Mr Dowman said he was not representing himself in the matter altogether, but fclio ratepayers in his district, and ho considered the Lower Yalley people were completely shut in by the toll. Mr Tully thon moved as a,further amendment, and Mr McDougal seconded, that the tender of Mr Laurie be accepted conditionally,' that is to say if Mr Dmrman's motion is carried at next mooting the tender will be void and the deposit refunded; if not carried, Mr Laurie'* term will commence from that date.
