MASTERTOMONDAY, Before H, A. Stratford, Esq,, R.M. FAMILY JABS. Stephen Neary was charged with using threatening language towards his wife, Annie Neary. on March Bth. Complainant deposed to the languape used, which was of a disgusting character, and asked that defendant be bound over to keep the peace, Bho being in fear of bodily injury. The defendant, who refused to be sworn, made a statement.contradicting the charge, and gave an'account of the dispute, which arose over chopping firewood, leading up to the present action. . His Worship gave defendant a lesson on a husband's duty, pointing out that it was hardly a. woman's work to chop firewood, especially when a strong, ablebodied husband was doing nothing but looking on. Judgment was reserved. An application for a separation and protection orderwas made by the complainant against the defendant on the grounds of cruelty.

The charge was admitted by defendant, and to despatch the case, the usual order was made, the complainant to have charge of ''one child,,' tho fruit^ of tljjj,'' jnariiage, also a chim qf' fche' complainant by a previous marriage.', His Worahip .postponed tho order for maintenanbo till -some future date, as defendant winhed' to have the custody of his child, which was considered too young to leave its mother.
