The application was granted.....,, Mr Rayner applied for a right "of road '. leading to his property. Inconseor'mceof Mr Perry fencing, he is now, j&iibited . from making use of the road much he had been using. \ It was resolved that the application be granted, and that the road be laidpff and protected by gates; and' Mr Pe'jiyj who: was in attendance, stated that not call upon the Board to fence unless the gates became a nuisance through the public makiug use of them by leaving them open. Mr Reynolds stated that he objected '■ to the payment of anything until ; some' members of the Board interviewed the ' work. It was resolved that the .Chairman--and : Mr H. R. Bunny be appointed to inspect ■'•. the work, and report at next meeting. Mr Perry thanked the Board and with- ' : drew? ■■■'.- Mr Aplin asked for a bridge on Hilton road.*' It was resolved that Mr Parker get Jhe work done. Mr Parker asked that a road be laid off ' through sections as shown on the plan in the flinau Gully. Application granted. ' An "Application from Mr Butler was left in the hands of the Warden. ■ A deputation waited on the Board in reference to gravelling the Hinau Gully road, arid the Warden promised to ask the Board to allow him to expondthe first available monies on that road. The Treasurer's report was laid upon the table. £ . A letter was read from Mr W. Cundy • re cleaning out tho drain on Park road, The matter was left in the hands of the Warden.' The Chairman stated that he had seen certain statements in the " Observer" re the obstruction of Park road by fallen trees. He would like the Board to come to some decision as to who is responsible for clearing such trees away from time to time.

Mr Booth explained that when the Council wanted to fall the bush, Mr Dakin, the lessee of the land, refused to give permission. It was decided to instruct the Clerk, to write to Mr Dakin on the matter. Mr Gallon informed the Board that Mr Brooks, the railway inspector, had stopped the contractor from' proceeding with the metalling on, the road known as Railway Road, Matarawa, The mattor was allowed to stand over for further advice from the Survoy Office. Tenders were opened.for formation, metalling, &c, of 34 chains of the Car-terton-Gladstone road, and that of Mr P. Daly at £77 was accepted. Mr W. R. Coe's tender for formation of 18 chains on the Ahiaruhe road at £1 1b 6d per chain was accepted. '■} Several accounts wore passed for payment, and tho mooting then adjourned.
