It is rumored that there is a serious ease of typhoid fever in Masterton which has its origin in cesspools which the civic authorities permit to exist, If the facts as stated, be correct, the Borough Council is open to grave censure for its lax supervision in sanitary matters, As the Council has a Medical .Officer as well as an Inspector of Nuisances, oiie might have thought that some report of a serious danger to the ; health of the town would before this have; been brought under its notice.
