RIFLE MATCH.

Masterton v. Carterton, A match was fired between the above corps on Saturday afternoon last at the Wimbleton Range, Masterton, Owing to the inclement state of the weather, the match was not commenced and then wan commenced and finished under a pelting sou' west raih, Fortunately, there was but little wind. At the finish of the 200 yds, the home; team led by 17 points, and addpd 13 points more at the 300 yds. The visiting team fell off at the 500 yds, allowin? the home team to gain 40 points, thus winning the match by 70 points, Carterton accepted their 1 defeat with their usual good grace, and informed their opponents that the defeat was only lent.
