To the Editor h^'~? * may make a su Sg est ion to "Reform" and "Temperance" who have so pitifully expressed fchemselvesjs your columns, it would be that they h™ themselves, and not seek the assistance of those who have better and more comprehensive work on hand. Ministers of religion should not be asked to "leave their platforms" to assist "Reform" or. any other specialist. They have no nt?r©j right to do so than teetotalers have to « on licensing benches.; A total abstinent crusade is one thing-, but gospel preaching is another. Ministers of religion, <,as a matter, of fact, do sometimes "leavetheir platforms to make commbn causa against the drink traffic," but such departures are generally ill-timed and distasteful, and too dosely resemble the bottled peas competition and. special totedodgesjof worldly money-hunters. ; lam, (fee, Every mas to, ma trade.
