MASTERTON ROAD BOARD.
A meeting ot the Board was hold on Saturday last, Present—Mossra Dagg (ohairman),Gunderson, Johnstone, Welch and Meredith.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. "*
The following correspondence was al«o. read:—From Chief Survey with, state, ment of monies, due from.' lands' sold on deferred payments'. FfdmF, 0. Bredersen the Board to erect a bridge across the t,om,: rariga, ' ■'
From. E,a,s,fc County Council with memorandum, on the subject of local govern, mont finance, FromT, Hitchhwaro the fencing on the Uriti road,
From Alfredkm Board re adjustment of accounts.
From R. S. Hawkins re payment of cheque.
From Chief Surveyor re road fro section 24 to section 65, Miki-Miki. ' Mr Mawley attended as to the removal of tho stops on the ntad." Mwp Juick, anctMcPhee alsq attended, as to formation and metalling on the road from Mr Maoara'a gate to the Pirau,
Messrs Colway and Allan also attended and requested the Board to clean the drains on the Lower Manaia road, The following resolutions were then passed : That the engineer be.instructed to give Mr Hitchings the information asked for, and that Mr Metedith arrange for the hauljng of the timber for tho bridge on the ffriti Road, That consideration of memorandum from East County Council be postponed till next Monday, That the overseer report to next meeting as to the erection of the bridge applied for by F. 0. Broderson across the Kouparangi river. : That Thomas Hurly be allowed • £2 to asßist in clearing the timber on tho road line leading to his sections at Wangaehu. That tenders bo invited for the formation of a road leading 1 fnrn, M? Maoara's. gate to the Pjrau, and .also for felling bush on the South Mauricevillo road.
That Messrs Colway and Allen's application for cleaning of the ditches at the Lower Manaia be granted. That whatever monies are. available for the opening 'and maintenance of the Wangaehu road bq applied by putting on a. maintenance man as oooasslon required, till such monies aro expended. The following.tenders' were received for'the formation and metalling on the South Mauricevillo Road:—Corbett, £62 10s (accepted); Janderson (informal) £6912s fid ; Tannine, £75; H, Stevens, £76; A, Anderson, £B6 5s j D. McKenzio, £95; Riagard (informal) £lOl-6s; O'Brien, £ll2lO Accounts amounting tp £lO3 5s 6d were passed and paid. The. Board then adjourned till the. next regular meeting, ... ,
