BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.

A meeting of subscribers to the Norfck Wairarapa Benevolent Society was held at the Institute, yesterday afternoon for the : purpose of considering the advisableltess of incorporating the Society muhi the 'Hospital and Charitable Aid Aot. There were present Mrs Paige, Mia Beard, Revs. W. E. Paige and D, Fulton, and Mr'Payton. On '.the motion, of the Rev. W. |. Paige Mr Payton was voted to the chair. The motion was seconded by the Rev. D. Pulton and carried unanimously. Some discussion then ensued upon the manner in which the canvassing should bo carried out, the Rev. W. & Paig# suggesting that they might lea\tt'to th« lady members of the Society, who, h« knew, were good at work.of the kind. The Chairman said he had no doubt tho
