On receipt of notice from the Seamen's Union intimating an tointentiongo outon strike in 24 hours, the shipowners withdrew tho letter they had written to the new managing secretary of the Trades Council, agreeing to the appointment of aßoard of conciliation, under certain conditions. Thirty two men brought to Victoria from Now Zealand by tho Wuihora are now working for the Union Company, while a similar number is employed by the Australian Navigation Company. The attitude of the remaining men ifl uncertain.
