The Samoan chiefs have communicated with the Premier, and they prooeed to Wellington by the Hawea to-morrow, where the _ Governor meets them, The Premier, in a, telegram received hero, states that a full account of th 9 Samoan affair have been cabled Home by Government, New Plymouth, January 12, Another outbreak of fire has occurred near %ira, Southey and Willy's sawmill is in great danger, also Mr Nelson's dwellinghouse. A special train left hore this evening for Ifyaire with volunteers to render assistance in putting out the fire and protecting property. A strong southerly breeze is blowing at Stratford, which is very serious, but it is to be hoped that rain will soon come. Twenty four hours' rain would completely extinguish tho fire. Until that occurs the outlook is bad.
