A LIMPSY COUPLE.
A lord and his man Sandy are returnine home in the oarly morning both considerably "fuddled." The lord fell off his horse into a stream of water. Sandy Helped the lord on the horse, but, unfortunately, he was this time mounted the wrong Bide before. ■ "Now, Sandy,, gie me the bridle; gie me the bridle, g* l 4y-" '.'Wait till I the bridle. There iona any bridle,' ..and- there is ; 'na any place for a bridle,"said Sandy. "Gie me the bridle, Sandy; I mußt hae ono to steer the beast wi'," exclaimed the lord. "Ah, laird," replied Sandy, "here's a miiacle. Tho -horae'a head's aff, an I canna find the placo where it was, and there'snaething left but* long piece o' his mane. "-Platform Echow.
