A BREEZE WITH TITOKOWARU'S FOLLOWERS.

New Plymouth, December 28.

A report was in circulation in flew Plymouth on Saturday that a fracas had occurred at White Cliff between Tifcokowaru's people and the police. The Taranaki Herald's Urenui correspondent furnishes the following particulars of the affair ;—Titokowaru and his atua party, on driving at Pukearuke (White Cliffs) on Thursday gamped his natives on their old spot near the native settlement, After pitching tents all went np to the A.C. Camp,' where Titokowaru made a speech, saying they were going to stop there for the night. The natives paraded about the place, and then went back to their Cfpp, About sundown a party of about twenty came back antj pjtcl)ed a tent on the hill about fifteen or twenty yqrds from the blockhouse, It was quiokly pulled down by the civil police, and the natives were told that none of them would be allowed to camp there. The natives offered no resistance or violence, but immediately returned to their camp. The party who pitched the tents, the Herald correspondent stated, are some of Mahauki's lot (Ngatimaniapoto), who are regular Te Whiti-ites. Several of them y/}lked into the schoolroom at the^.C.
