THE DISPLAY OF MEAT.
The butchers in Masterton had an excellent display of meat last night, and the yarjpijs shops were crowded with customers and sigfttsgefg, ■' Messrs Wickerson and Wagland had some splendid qheep f^om' tljo faints fif Mrs Yates and "Mr T: E. A splendid calf attracted the most attehtion, and i its■; joints will, no doubt,' be eagerly sought after to-day. There were. some excellent sheep of medium weight, which came from the farm of Mr J. Macara, and Several fine bullocks, which came from Messrs Herbert's own farm on the Opaki. Mr Hockley had a very fine display of prime Christmas beef, lambs and sucking pigs. The show was artistically fixed up with ferns and evergreens, and the goods nicely dressed.
