MASTERTON-MANGAHAO SPECIAL SETTLEMENT ASSOCIATION.
The following is the report whioh was presented to the meeting of members held on Saturday evening ;-= Masterton, -18 th December, 1885.
To the members of tho MastertonMangahao Speoial Settlement Association. Genhemen,—Your Committee has the honor to report as follows 1. In accordance with your wishes, tenders were invited by advertisement for the survey of the Masterton-Mangahao Block, eight tenders were received, the lowest, that of Mr Ellison, of Napier, for £BBO, being accepted. 2. Three separate calls of £2 per member on account of the survey have been made, and the contractor has received progress jiayiipt amoving to. £25,Q, 1 8, SesprsGli'dwood'aft'dYulevisitedthe Block in September last;''and suitable 'site for the township and suburbs, The original Western boundary line being considered too far back, a more suitable boundary was decided on. 4. Two good roads are tyid off to connect the block with the Forty Mile Bush, road through the Mang'ataiiioke'Block; ip leading off from Parnate, anyone s'■ short dl'stance'beyond t|e Bodge.'" '' '" """" """ " """ - ' q/Applications have been tq the PqhHc* Wqrks Department iov suitable means for crossing tho river. 0, The Orqwn Lands Department will pay for the survey of its own reserves, which will reduce the cost of surveying the whole Block.
7.
