Frank William Richiird Seed, manager Bank of New Zealand, Carterton, V gave evidence as to an.entry in their books' of a payment on May" 2nd, 1879, of £173 17b lOd, to the account of Mr- Mart Greathead, by cheque drawn by G. Great-, head. The lodgement signed by Robert Greathead. Having compared the signature on the slip mffi ithat on the 1.0, U. ho should say, it was ; the Bame signature. The cheque produced showed that the amount-had been paid by the' Napier bank, - ( This concluded the case for the plaintiff, and evidence having been taken, for-the defence, -. ' • ' ; 1. !
