To the Editor. Sir.—l see from a paragraph in the Daily of tho 12th inst. that it is stated on good authority that two of the tenders for tho metalling contract were informal because tho tenderers failed to enclose tho usual deposit, or the deposit enclosed was not enough. Allow me to say that thisis incorrect. Until the tenders were opened and dealt with there had been no deposit asked for by the Board, Therefore, Mr Editor, your paragraph does not explain the position, Please give this a place in your paper.. lam Ac,, S, Chishou(.
