Mr John Henniker fleaton and Mr Howard Vincent have been elected, while the .Hon. Lyulph Stanley and Mr Kynaston Cross have been defeated. For the City of London electorate (one member), the Rig"ht Hon. J. G. Hubbard and Alderman Fowler each polled the same number of votes-namely, 91.
The Conservative candidates have been generally successful in the London suburban electorates,
In the provinces Liberals have been elected for York, Salisbury, Boston, and Edinburgh, while the Conservatives have beon successful at Boston, Winchester, Norwich, Nuneatoif, and Hull,
Leeds, out of five seats, returns three Conservatives, while for Sheffield the following five members have been elected: —Messrs Coleridge, Mundella, Howard Vincent, Ashmead Bartlett, and Stuart Wortley.
Mr Gladstone has been re-elected for Midlothian, and Sir Lyon Playfair For the Edinburgh and St, Andrew's Universities. Madrid, November 26. The Spanish Ministry has resigned, and a Liberal Cabinet is bping formed, Id is reported that the Princess Mercedes, eldest daughter of the late King Alfonso, has been proclaimed Queen of Spain under the regency of her mother, the Dowager Queen Christina. Sydney, November 27. There has been a general increase in the values' of grain since last week's reports. New Zealand wheat has further advanced by twopence per bushel, and is now quoted at 3s sd; N.Z. oats 2s 4d, one penny dearer; maize, per sGlbs, two pence higher, 4s 2d; pollard, per bushel, Is 2d. There are no potatoes in the mar-, ket, Sugar Co.'s No. 1, £26 per ton. the debate in tho Legislative Assembly on the no-confidence motion of Sir John Robertson still continuos, and r, is improbable that a division will be taken before the end of next week. The Government party is much weaker, and its chances of success are by no means certain. •
Melbourne, November 27. It has been,agreed by the Federal Council, consisting of representatives of Yictoria, Queensland, Tasmania, Western Australia, and Fiji, to meet at Hobart'on the 25th January next. The Assembly sat until six o'clock this morning, owing to the Opposition obstructing tho passing of the Estimates, - London, November 27.
According to the latest returns the Conservatives have returned 111 members and the Liberals 110. For Manchester five Conservatives and one Liberal have been returned, Sir\T. Fergusson securing one of the Beats. Fot-Jtfarylebone district two Conservative members have been returned, including Lord Cl\as, Bereaford. The Conservative party also secured victories at Westminster, '\Hamstead, Greenwich, Oxford, and Wakefield. Mr Howard Spensley, late of Victoria, has .been elected for Finsbury, the other two seats being gained by Conservatives. The Liberals have been successful at Haliflax. Chester, and Rochdale, Mr Batter being' re-elected for the latter place. Tho old members have been re-elected for Middlesborough, West Bromwick and Falmouth, the Right Honorable Cavendish Bentinck being defeated at the latter place, Sir Thomas Brassey has been reelected for Hastings and Mr Macarthur for Leicester.
