DANIEL O'CONNELL was bred by Mr Murphy, of Marlborough, and is by Daniel O'Rourke, from Plover, by Sir Hercules, Plover IB also dam of Malvina, Hercules, and other winners, see N.Z. Stud Book, Vol. G. Daniel O'Rourke won the Canterbury Derby and Cup, in 1875, and is by Sledmere (imported), from Brunette (imported), who is also dam of Tadinor, the Canterbury Derby winner of 1874. DANIEL is a bay horse, and is G years old, standing over 16 hands high, good constitution, and if good shape, size, and performance go for anything,, this son of Daniel O'Rourke should beget the class of horses required in the Wtiirarapa.
