Great difficulty is experienced in estimating the relative strength of parties, owing to the number of independent candidates who have been elected, Sydney, November 2. Mr Lyne succeeds Mr Badgery as Secretary of Public Works. Pending the decision of the New South Wales Government respecting the continuance of the San Francisco Mail Service, it is understood that an arrangement has been made whereby the Zealandia and Australia will run from Sydney to San Francisco direct, calling at Honolulu en route. Lopqn, November 2, The Greek Government have issbed a diplomatic note to the Powers, claiming that their frontier shall exteud as far north as Epirns, and stating that it was so adjudged by the Berlin Conference. Calcutta, November 2.
The first dotatchment of the expeditionary force, which is bein? despatched to uphold the authority of the British High Commissioner in Bunnah, sailed to-day for Rangoon.
